Phantom Farm
Halfway between Etosha and Windhoek,
nestled deep within the 140 000 ha Ovipuka conservation area, is
a destination as unusual and extraordinary as its name.
An old family farm, Phantom Farm offers
traditional Namibian hospitality of a type not easily found in today’s
world – including unforgettable surroundings, beautiful rooms
and exceptional food.
With both free-roaming game and beef
cattle, this is one of the few dual-purpose farms left and, within
its 5 000 hectares, you can expect to see game like oryx, kudu,
eland, hartebeest, steenbok, duiker, warthog and mountain zebra
regularly.
Predators like jackal are also common,
while caracal, African wildcat, cheetah and leopard will be spotted
by the sharp of eye. Ostrich, springbok and Burchell's zebra are
currently being introduced.
Phantom is a paradise for birdwatchers,
with regular sightings of Monteiro's Hornbill, white tailed shrike
and Hartlaub's francolin.
It’s another world – that’s
close enough for overnight stays.
At only 2.5 hours from Windhoek, Phantom
is a perfect overnight alternative to staying at Windhoek or Waterberg.
For guests staying more than one night, we offer drives to CCF,
REST and the Waterberg. And for those guests flying home from Windhoek,
Phantom Farm is the perfect overnight farewell to this beautiful
country before returning to ‘real life’.
